Scott Kelby Book

I finally picked up The Digital Photography Book by Scott Kelby. So far I've enjoyed it. Scott has a unique sense of humor and doesn't get technical about what he's describing but he does tell you how to get a particular type of shot and even how to do it on a budget and with 3 kids I need that. I'm on a hunt for book 2 now.

Workout Update

For starters I didn't weight this morning at the gym. I did however run a 5k on the treadmill to the tune of 35:34 which make me feel great and mildly depressed all at the same time. Anyone that's never run competitively won't get that but I ran track and cross country in high school and ran the same distance for cross country under 17 minutes on several occasions. I am very happy to get my cardio intensity up that high I have been able to tell a big difference in the amount of inches and weight coming off since I've started to ratchet it up a little.

Who knows, maybe by early summer I'll shoot for a real sub 30 minute 5k. I think I need to lose a few more pounds before that so I can save my poor shins some anguish.

Possible February Camping Trip

Amazon.com Wish List

For me 2008 is the year of photography. I already have my annual trip with my Dad planned for Grandfather mountain, but I'm trying to come up with more trips, tips, pictures, anything photo for this year. I'm hoping to add a few books and things like a new tirpod/ballhead and flash equipment to my camera bag. While doing some research I discovered the Amazon wish list and also the B&H wish list. Just click on the button and/or link below and you'll see the books and equipment on my wish list. For those close friends and family remember the birthday is on the ides of March.

LightRoom Presets and workout update

WinterSceneRed

Winter scene picture that I took during a winter snow in Alabama. This has had the color saturation adjusted in lightroom to only show the reds and the remaining shot black and white. Pretty cool I thought.

I am down to 226. I had a week off from working out and then managed to pick back up right after that. I've been able to bump up the intensity of my cardio workouts on the treadmill and the elliptical and that has paid off. I really haven't changed my eating during that time.

If you have a minute be sure to check out Scott Kelby's blog. Great photo source and Bill Fortney really likes him so he's alright in my book. Speaking of books, I can't seem to find his volume 2 of the Digital Photography Book. I guess I may try and get both from an online dealer here soon since I can't find both locally.
