I'm the webmaster for www.PrepSports.us. I've found that over the years when I type or write things down I tend to do a better job of accomplishing those things than if I just "say" I'm going to do them. So with that being "typed" I'm going to put down a few things that I want to do with the PrepSports site. They may or may not happen but like I said writing them down ususually helps me.
1. Add something similar to what del.icio.us has on their site which is an:
added 6 days ago or 12 minutes ago or something like that.
2. Redisign the site and make it more web 2.0. I listened to the practical web design magazine podcast on web 2.0 and I very much like that things that were being said and I like the sites they used as examples of being web 2.0 like so of course I want mine to be more like that.
3. Find a way to do a simple 5 minute podcast on high school football, including intro, bumper music, etc. Segments can be the week in review, current top 10, this weeks preview, athlete of the week, best whatever. Doesn't need to be too long but it needs to be. Can start out being advertised by FaithAndHome magazine.
4.Add pages for each school, this may take some time but there are certainly some schools that are getting their pictures taken so that would be where to start. Need to see if I can get a current school list from AHSAA or something like that. Its hard to handle new schools since my DB is two or three years old. Start with:
- Pell City
- Chelsea
- Hoover
- Cullman
- Oak Mountain
- Spain Park
- Homewood
- Vestavia
- Pike County
- Oxford
- Moody
- Briarwood
Anyone else that has more than about 5 games online. Each page should contain a schedule if available. Directions to the school complete with a linked google map. Like this:
